Completed

Well, Chris and I completed the Course on the 11th September 2011.

I did it in 1hr 59mins and some seconds (Just good enough for the TA Para's, so I've been told. Just need to get rid of that fear of heights!!!!).

Chris did it around 1hr 48mins - Good enough for the full time Para's!!

I did some gym training in August, but being school holidays I didn't get too much done - we did some more road running with the bergen and boots (the bergen got progressively heavier - the heaviest being 12Kg).

The thousand mile socks and the compeed blister pads did the job - no problems with the feet during the run, thank god!

Signing up for it next year........... :-)

End of June

A manic month....

Last week I only went once to the gym!

The previous 2 weeks I went 9 - 10 times following the regime (not good as the knees were a bit creaky by the end of it al).

Off for a 6 mile walk with 8kg and boots tomorrow.... See how many blisters I can get (though I do now have compeed pads for the heels!)

End of May

Hmmm, still slow on the up take of doing more gym sessions

In the last 2 weeks I've done two complete regimes and had 3 runnings sessions.

Will start road running in June - boots seem to be breaking in well and bag to be ordered soon!! :-)

Chris and I did a 6.5 mile around Castle Acre - very nice place if we'd taken the time to look instead of see how quckly we could get around it (2 hours).

Catch up

Well - with two Open Water weekends and some pool sessions I didn't get much gym done :-(

Thursday 28th May - Gym session: followed the regime as usual. It was meant to be a session with the PT but decided not to turn up, big thanks to Gracie who chased Martin - but he still didn't come in!

Monday 2nd May - 7 mile walk around Blickling Hall in boots and 5kg. I think we did it 2 hours, the last mile or so was a bit slow going due to the blisters that were growing on my heels.....

Thursday 12th May - Gym session: followed the regime as usual, but in new trainers :-) I had to get moderate pronation trainers.
To nick a quote from the Runners World site "If you have a normal arch, you're likely a normal pronator, meaning you'll do best in a stability shoe that offers moderate pronation control". Which means £90 to you and me for proper running shoes!!

End of the Week

Thursday morning
10 minute warm up on the cross trainer
20 minute run at 11.5km/ph
About 6 lengths of the pool (too much slow traffic)

Friday morning
10 minute warm up on the cross trainer
15 minute run at 12km/ph
About 6 lengths of the pool (again too much slow traffic)

Looks like I'm going to have to get in earlier in the morning to get any swimming in!
