Week 2!

I was a tad hungry after the Friday session:
Sausage & chips, a couple of pints, a packet of Nobby's chilli nuts(?), another couple of drinks then went home after stopping off at the pizza & kebab shop for a 9" Pizza!!!!!

Anyway after the weekend off (popped down to the LIDS in Excel - top fella Monty Halls had a session on) I got up bright and early for an early morning trip to the gym.

10 minutes warm up (as per the March regime)
Planned on a 30 minute run on a gradient 1 incline - after 10 minutes had to drop it down to zero incline and managed another 15 minutes (wasn't feeling great)
Followed by 16 lengths of the pool.

Next attempt will be Wednesday for a go at the full March regime........

Tired.....

Well after doing a session Thursday, where I managed to get to level 14 on the stepper for 2 minutes I only managed 7 minutes on the running machine, my body (well, legs) were feeling very tired.

I "attempted" a session on Friday after work where I bombed out on the stepper (managed under a minute at level 14) and failed miserably on the running machine only lasting a measley 3 minutes :-(

Must try harder next week!! Right - must get ready to go to LIDS tomorrow......

Early morning {groan}

Had an early morning session today - started at 0650hrs.

30mins at 11km followed by 20 laps of the pool.

Got to work feeling very refreshed! (might have had something to do with the sunny morning rather than the exercise)

What have I done so far?

Hmmm - not too much I fear.
I have started a new regime at the gym "kindly" supplied by Martin a Personal Trainer at Greens, Norwich.

So far I have had 2 sessions over the last 2 weeks with Martin and completed 2 sessions on my own. I will post the what the regime consists of for my own interest at a later date.

Also complete a 8 mile walk around Wells-next-the-Sea on Sunday 13th March with Chris in under 3 hours (I was just wearing normal walking boots, jeans and about 2kg on my back) wasn't much of a test - just wanted to see how long it would take so I've got a target to hit of gettign a lot quicker!

First Post.....

Hello! I thought I'd start a blog covering all my "fun" that I'm going to have getting fit and ready for the Para's 10 P Company Challenge held at Catterick, UK on the 11th September 2011.

If you don't know what the Para's 10 is:
A 10 mile multi-terrain run - The Parachute Regiments recruits have to complete the course in boots, bergen weighing16kg and complete it in under 1hr and 50mins.....
Further details can be found at: http://www.paras10.com/

First of all I'd like to thank Chris for asking the question on the 16th February "Do you fancy doing the Paras 10 run in September with boots and bergen?" - I still don't know what possessed me to say "Yes" the next day. Not wanting to be dragged into this on my own I then conned another friend, Clive, into the party only Clive was a bit more sensible..... He's just doing the run in trainers and normal running gear!!

Chris has also started a blog which can be found at: http://chrisb-paras10.blogspot.com/
